STORE MANAGER - KID TO KID WEST SENECA

West Seneca, NY - Full-Time - $55,000 base salary + performance bonus

We’re looking for someone who wants to run a great store.

Kid to Kid West Seneca is a high-volume children's resale store, and we're looking for the person who can take an already successful business and make it even better.

We're not looking for someone to simply fill a management position. We're looking for a leader.

Someone who can build a team, make decisions, solve problems, spot opportunities, and take ownership of the store. K2K West Seneca currently ranks #14 out of more than 100 Kid to Kid stores nationwide (YTD). That's a pretty good starting point, and our goal is to make it even better.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Confident enough to make decisions and humble enough to know they don't know everything.
  • Driven and optimistic, with a good sense of humor.
  • A strong communicator who listens to ownership, employees, and customers.
  • A person of exceptional character who can be trusted completely.
  • Comfortable holding people accountable while still having their backs.
  • Able to juggle a dozen things at once without becoming the thirteenth problem.
  • Comfortable working independently and making decisions without waiting for permission.
  • Curious and eager to learn, improve, and become a better leader.
  • Organized enough to use systems, checklists, and notes when they help.
  • Someone who sees opportunities and brings ideas to the table.
  • Someone who can bring a problem to ownership with a recommendation, not just a problem.
  • Someone who wants to build people, not simply manage them.

You won't be expected to know everything about Kid to Kid on Day One. We can teach you our business. What we can't teach is character, work ethic, judgment, leadership, or the desire to become great at what you do.

What you'll actually do

You'll be responsible for the entire operation of the store, including:

  • Leading, developing, and holding your team accountable
  • Hiring, training, and coaching employees
  • Driving sales and profitability
  • Managing payroll and scheduling
  • Overseeing buying and inventory decisions
  • Monitoring store performance and using the numbers to make decisions
  • Maintaining merchandising, cleanliness, and operational standards
  • Creating an exceptional customer experience
  • Identifying opportunities to grow sales and improve the business
  • Developing future leaders within your team
  • Handling employee issues professionally and decisively
  • Working alongside your team on the sales floor

This is a hands-on job. You won't be managing the store from behind a desk.

Autonomy matters here.

We don't want a manager who calls us every time something goes wrong. We want someone who can say: “Here's what's happening. Here's what I've done. Here's what I think we should do next.” And then go do it.

At the same time, you'll have owners who are accessible, experienced, and genuinely interested in your success. We expect you to use your judgment, but we're always available when you need another perspective. We want you to own the store without feeling like you own it alone.

And here's something else that's important to us.

We believe a manager's job isn't just to get today's work done. It's to make the people around them better. Some of the best people we've ever worked with went on to bigger things. That's something we're proud of.

If you're the kind of leader who wants to build a team that trusts you, works hard for one another, and eventually produces leaders of its own, you'll fit very well here.

Compensation

$55,000 annual salary

Up to $800/month performance bonus

Potential annual compensation of $64,600

This is a full-time salaried management position with flexibility and autonomy. We expect you to manage your own schedule, be here when the business and your team need you, and use your judgment about when you're needed. We care about results, leadership, and having the store run well, not about counting hours.

Plus:

  • 10 days paid vacation
  • 401(k) with match
  • Cell phone monthly allowance
  • Employee discount
  • Opportunities for continued growth and advancement
  • Training and support from experienced ownership

One last thing.

We aren't interested in finding someone who can give us the best answers in an interview. We want to get to know you. So if you think you might be the person we're looking for, we'd like to meet you. We'll get together, talk, and then maybe talk some more.

Because we think you learn a lot more about a person when they're just being a person.

If that sounds like the kind of opportunity you're looking for, we'd like to hear from you.
