Role Overview:

As a Caregiver at Home Helpers, you will be responsible for providing compassionate care and support to a client in their home in Henry, Illinois. We are currently seeking a dependable and experienced caregiver to provide consistent evening care Monday through Friday from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

Dementia care experience is required for this position. The ideal caregiver will understand the unique needs of individuals living with dementia and be comfortable providing patient, compassionate, and consistent care while supporting the client's safety, comfort, dignity, and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and other personal care needs.
2. Provide compassionate dementia care, including appropriate redirection, reassurance, cueing, and support with daily routines.
3. Provide companionship and engage the client in appropriate social and recreational activities.
4. Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to the client's dietary needs.
5. Provide medication reminders and assist with light housekeeping tasks.
6. Communicate with Home Helpers staff, family members, and other members of the client's care team to help ensure the client's needs are met.

Qualifications:

You're a great fit if you have the following skills and experience:

1. Previous hands-on dementia care experience is required.
2. Compassion and a genuine desire to help others.
3. Empathy, patience, and an understanding of how to appropriately interact with and support individuals living with dementia.
4. Ability to communicate effectively in English.
5. Previous professional caregiving or healthcare experience is preferred.
6. Capacity to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving.
7. Dependability and the ability to consistently work the scheduled hours.

Bonus If You:

1. Have certifications such as CPR or First Aid.
2. Have additional dementia-specific training or certifications.

Employment Type & Availability:

This is a Part-Time position with a consistent weekday schedule:

Monday through Friday

4:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Approximately 15 hours per week

Applicants must be able to consistently commit to this schedule.

Location:

This position is On-Site Only and provides care in a client's home located in Henry, Illinois.
