Position Overview

Homewatch CareGivers is seeking a highly experienced, compassionate, dependable caregiver to provide one-on-one, in-home care for a male client living with Alzheimer's disease in Moodus, CT.

Our client has limited mobility and is preparing to return home from a skilled nursing facility following a fall. He will require full-assist personal care, mobility support, and attentive supervision to help ensure his safety, comfort, and well-being at home.

This position requires a caregiver who is experienced in working with individuals living with dementia, understands the challenges associated with Alzheimer's disease, and is confident providing hands-on assistance to clients with significant physical limitations.

This is NOT an entry-level caregiving position. We are seeking an experienced professional with a proven track record of reliability, patience, and quality care.

NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS

Please apply ONLY if you meet ALL of the following qualifications:

• Location/Commute: Must be able to commute to Moodus, CT, daily. Applicants must understand the location and be confident they can consistently and reliably report to work.
• Transportation: Must have a valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle, and dependable transportation. Backup transportation is strongly preferred.
• Dementia Experience: MUST have direct, hands-on experience caring for individuals living with dementia, specifically Alzheimer's disease.
• Professional Caregiving Experience: A minimum of TWO (2) YEARS of verifiable professional caregiving experience in a home care setting, skilled nursing facility, assisted living facility, or other patient care environment is REQUIRED.
• Personal Care Skills: Must be comfortable and experienced providing full-assist personal care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Stellar Professional References: Must provide strong, verifiable professional references who can specifically speak to your dependability, attendance, professionalism, and caregiving abilities.
• Reliability: Consistent attendance, punctuality, and commitment to scheduled shifts are absolutely essential.
• Professionalism: Must demonstrate patience, compassion, maturity, sound judgment, and an understanding of dementia-related behaviors and care needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful, one-on-one care for a male client living with Alzheimer's disease.
• Assist with all activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Provide hands-on mobility assistance and fall-prevention support using appropriate safety techniques.
• Help the client safely transition back to his home environment following discharge from a skilled nursing facility.
• Provide appropriate dementia care, including reassurance, redirection, patience, and support with confusion or changes in behavior.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe living environment.
• Observe and promptly communicate changes in the client's physical condition, behavior, or care needs.
• Follow the established care plan and communicate regularly with the Homewatch CareGivers office.
• Provide dependable, consistent care while preserving the client's dignity and quality of life.
