Kid to Kid is seeking a detail-oriented Pre-sorter/ Buyer to evaluate incoming inventory, determine resale value, and ensure the store is stocked with high-quality, on-trend children’s items. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys fast decision-making, organization, and working directly with customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and authenticate incoming clothing, shoes, toys, and gear
• Sort incoming items according to buying guidelines
• Determine pricing based on brand, condition, demand, and store standards
• Communicate the selling process using approved scripting
• Educate customers on how items are evaluated and what to expect
• Encourage customers to remain in-store during their buy when appropriate
• Present offers clearly and professionally
• Prepare purchased items for tagging, processing, and merchandising
• Maintain a clean, organized buying station and backstock area
• Track inventory flow and identify gaps or high-demand categories
• Support store operations during busy periods
• Participate in opening/closing procedures when assigned
• Follow all company policies and review communication logs daily

Qualifications

• Retail or customer-service experience preferred, not required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail with quick, accurate decision-making
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Basic math skills and comfort with cash/credit transactions
• Dependable, reliable, and punctual
• Team-oriented and able to work with urgency
• Interest in children’s fashion, resale, or sustainability is helpful
• Eager to learn and follow store buying standards

Physical Requirements

• Lift boxes, bins, displays, and merchandise up to 20 lbs overhead
• Bend, reach, stoop, and kneel while evaluating and processing items
• Manual dexterity for tagging, hanging clothes, and light assembly/disassembly
• Requirements may change based on business needs
