Caregiver / CNA / STNA – Dementia Care – Day Shifts

FirstLight Home Care | Beachwood, OH and Surrounding Area

Pay: $17.00–$18.50 per hour, based on experience

URGENTLY HIRING – IMMEDIATE DAY SHIFT OPENINGS!

FirstLight Home Care is seeking experienced, dependable, and compassionate Caregivers, CNAs, and STNAs to provide one-on-one care for clients in the Beachwood area.

Previous hands-on experience caring for individuals with dementia is REQUIRED.

We are looking for caregivers who understand that exceptional dementia care goes beyond meeting basic needs. Our caregivers actively engage clients, encourage movement and independence, and create meaningful moments throughout the day.

Available Day Shifts

7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
1:00 PM – 7:00 PM

What You'll Do

Dementia Care: Provide patient, compassionate support to clients experiencing memory loss, confusion, and cognitive changes.
Meaningful Engagement: Actively engage clients in conversation, activities, games, walks, and daily routines that support cognitive and emotional well-being.
Ambulation & Mobility Assistance: Safely assist clients with walking, transfers, repositioning, and mobility while encouraging independence and following individual care plans.
Personal Care: Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other activities of daily living.
Companionship: Build trusting relationships and provide reassurance, encouragement, and emotional support.
Daily Living Support: Assist with meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and maintaining a safe environment.
Communication: Recognize and promptly communicate changes in mobility, behavior, or condition to the office team.

Requirements

Previous hands-on dementia care experience REQUIRED
Experience assisting clients with ambulation, transfers, and mobility
Ability to actively engage clients rather than simply supervise
CNA or STNA certification is a plus, but not required
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
Strong communication skills, patience, and professionalism
Ability to follow individualized care plans and safety procedures
