Role Overview:

As a Direct Support Worker (Mental Health) at Northwest Habilitation Services, you will play a crucial role in helping clients with persistent mental illness overcome daily challenges and achieve personal goals. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with a dedicated care team to provide motivation, guidance, and skills development that fosters independence. This is an on-site position located in Portland, Oregon, where you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of those you support.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide motivation and guidance to clients, helping them set realistic and achievable goals.

Engage with clients to build trust and establish routines that enhance self-confidence.

Develop and reinforce calendaring skills to assist clients in managing their daily activities.

Support clients in learning essential life skills, including hygiene, housekeeping, meal preparation, and grocery shopping.

Work in supported housing setups as well as in individual households, adapting your approach to meet each client’s unique needs.

Qualifications:

You're a great fit if you have the following skills.

Experience or training in mental health support or related fields.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to establish meaningful relationships with clients to foster trust and engagement.

Compassionate approach to providing support and guidance.

Flexibility to work part-time or full-time within the hours of 8 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday.

Bonus If You:

Are familiar with skills-building programs for individuals with mental illness.

Speak a second language, enhancing communication with diverse clients.

Employment Type & Availability:

This position offers both Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities within the hours of 8 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday.

Location:

This position is in Portland, Oregon, specifically focusing on in-home support for clients in Multnomah County.

Pay Rate:

$19.00-$19.50
