Home Health Aide (HHA) – Evening/Second Shift

Pay: $15.00–$23.00 per hour

Schedule: Late second shift and evening-to-late-night hours

BrightStar Care of Lafayette is hiring compassionate Home Health Aides (HHAs) to provide personalized, one-on-one care in clients’ homes. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced HHA, CNA, or in-home caregiver who enjoys working independently and helping clients remain safe and comfortable through their evening and bedtime routines.

You will have the opportunity to build a meaningful relationship with a consistent client while receiving support from an experienced clinical team available around the clock.

Pay Information

Hourly pay ranges from $15.00 to $23.00, depending on the client assignment, shift hours, level of care, experience, and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Active HHA certification, CNA certification, or other qualifying direct-care credential
• At least six months of professional home care, facility care, or personal caregiving experience
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently during late evening hours
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
• Ability to provide hands-on personal care and safely assist with mobility and transfers
• Ability to follow an individualized plan of care
• Ability to pass required background and pre-employment screenings
• Experience with dementia care, chronic conditions, bedtime care, or late-shift assignments is preferred
• A compassionate and respectful approach to client care

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one personal care in the client’s home
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene
• Help clients with safe mobility, positioning, transfers, and fall prevention
• Assist with evening and bedtime routines
• Monitor client safety and comfort during late second-shift hours
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Prepare simple meals, drinks, or snacks as needed
• Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, and general tidying
• Provide medication reminders according to the plan of care
• Accurately document all care provided using agency-approved systems
• Observe and report changes in the client’s condition to the supervising nurse or care manager
• Support clients with dementia, chronic conditions, or post-acute needs as directed
• Maintain a calm and reassuring environment
• Protect client dignity, privacy, independence, and HIPAA rights
