Home Helpers Home Care is seeking a compassionate, dependable Mandarin-speaking companion to support a client residing in a nursing home.

This unique opportunity is ideal for someone who speaks Mandarin fluently and enjoys helping others feel comfortable, understood, and supported. The primary responsibility is to serve as a companion and communication facilitator, helping the client communicate and navigate daily interactions with nursing home staff. Traditional hands-on caregiving duties are not the primary focus of this position.

Position Details

• Location: Nursing home setting
• Language: Fluent Mandarin required
• Availability: Daytime shifts, including weekdays and weekends

Responsibilities

• Communicate with the client in Mandarin and help facilitate communication with nursing home staff
• Provide companionship, reassurance, and social interaction
• Help the client understand daily activities and navigate routine interactions
• Communicate concerns or important updates to the appropriate family members and Home Helpers office

Minimum Requirements

• Fluency in spoken Mandarin – REQUIRED
• Patient, compassionate, and dependable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work respectfully with nursing home staff and family members
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Willingness to complete applicable state-mandated caregiver training
