Home Helpers Home Care of East Peoria is looking for compassionate, dependable caregivers to join our team providing overnight care to seniors and individuals who need assistance in their homes.

Our overnight caregivers play an important role in helping clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent throughout the night. Whether assisting with personal care, providing companionship, or responding to a client's needs, you'll make a meaningful difference in someone's life.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys one-on-one caregiving, is comfortable working overnight hours, and takes pride in providing reliable, compassionate care.

Schedule & Availability

• 12-hour overnight shifts
• Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available
• Weekday and weekend shifts may be available based on client needs
• Consistent schedules whenever possible
• Caregivers must remain awake and attentive throughout their assigned shifts
• Specific shift times and schedules will be discussed during the hiring process

What You'll Do

As an Overnight Caregiver, your responsibilities may include:

• Providing attentive, compassionate care throughout the night
• Assisting clients with toileting, incontinence care, and nighttime personal hygiene
• Helping clients safely get in and out of bed, reposition, transfer, and walk as needed
• Providing assistance with dressing, grooming, and bedtime or morning routines
• Monitoring client comfort and safety and responding promptly to their needs
• Providing companionship and reassurance to clients who may experience confusion, anxiety, or restlessness
• Assisting clients living with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia
• Providing medication reminders as outlined in the client's care plan
• Performing light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation as needed
• Following established care plans and documenting care provided
• Communicating changes in client condition or concerns to the office team

• Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications
• $2.00 per hour weekend differential for eligible hours from midnight Friday through midnight Sunday
• Paid training, including 21 hours during your first 60 days
• Paid leave accrued at one hour for every 40 hours worked, available for use after 90 days of employment

• Paid travel time and mileage between qualifying client shifts

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate is someone who:

• Is compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful
• Is comfortable working 12-hour overnight shifts
• Can remain awake, alert, and responsive throughout the shift
• Has experience caring for seniors or individuals who need assistance, although training is provided
• Is comfortable assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and transfers
• Can work independently while following an established care plan
• Communicates professionally with clients, families, and office staff
• Has reliable transportation
• Can successfully complete required background checks
• Takes pride in providing consistent, high-quality care
