Full-Time Caregiver – Daily Care Program

About Us

Assisting Hands Home Care is a non-medical home care agency dedicated to helping seniors maintain their independence and quality of life at home. We provide personalized support with daily activities such as dressing, mobility, toileting, meal preparation, medication reminders, personal care, light housekeeping, and companionship.

We proudly serve families across York and Lancaster Counties in South Carolina and are part of a trusted national franchise organization with more than 150 locations, combining local, personalized care with the strength and resources of a nationally recognized brand.

Role Overview

As a Full-Time Caregiver with our Daily Care Program, you’ll provide short, scheduled visits to several seniors throughout the day rather than spending an entire shift with one client.

You’ll follow an established Care Route, visiting the same group of clients multiple times throughout the day to provide assistance when they need it most — such as getting ready in the morning, toileting, preparing a simple meal, medication reminders, mobility assistance, safety check-ins, and getting ready for bed.

This position is ideal for an experienced, dependable caregiver who enjoys staying active, working independently, building relationships with multiple clients, and providing meaningful assistance throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Follow an established daily Care Route and visit multiple clients in their homes throughout the day.
  2. Assist clients with activities of daily living, including dressing, toileting, personal hygiene, transfers, and mobility.
  3. Prepare simple meals and provide medication reminders.
  4. Complete scheduled safety, hydration, meal, and wellness check-ins.
  5. Assist clients with morning and evening routines.
  6. Provide shower and personal care assistance to scheduled clients when needed.
  7. Complete accurate electronic documentation following each visit.
  8. Communicate promptly with the Assisting Hands office regarding changes in a client's condition, concerns, or scheduling issues.
  9. Provide dependable, compassionate care while keeping the Care Route running on schedule.

Qualifications

You're a great fit if you:

  1. Have previous caregiving experience; CNA or HHA experience is a plus.
  2. Are dependable, punctual, organized, and comfortable following a daily schedule.
  3. Enjoy working independently and taking responsibility for your clients throughout the day.
  4. Have strong verbal communication skills in English.
  5. Are compassionate, patient, and genuinely enjoy helping older adults.
  6. Are comfortable assisting with personal care, toileting, transfers, and mobility.
  7. Are comfortable driving between client homes throughout your workday.
  8. Have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

Bonus If You:

  1. Have CPR and First Aid certification.
  2. Have experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer's disease or dementia.
  3. Have experience with electronic caregiving documentation.
  4. Have experience working in home care, assisted living, rehabilitation, or senior living settings.

Employment Type & Availability

This is a full-time position with a consistent weekly schedule.

A typical workweek will include:

  • 2–3 days per week: approximately 12-hour shifts
  • 1–2 days per week: approximately 4-hour shifts

During the longer shifts, you will follow an established Care Route and visit several clients throughout the day. You will generally care for the same group of clients each week, allowing you to develop strong relationships while providing assistance at the times they need it most.

Because clients depend on these scheduled visits for essential daily activities such as getting dressed, toileting, meals, mobility assistance, and getting ready for bed, excellent attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential for this position.

Compensation, Paid Travel & Mileage

In addition to your regular hourly pay, Care Route caregivers may be eligible for bonus compensation based on program guidelines and performance.

Because this is a Care Route position, driving between client homes is part of your workday.

Your normal commute from home to your first scheduled client and from your last scheduled client back home is not paid work time.

Once you begin your Care Route, however:

  • You are paid for time spent driving between scheduled client visits.
  • If you use your personal vehicle, you will also receive mileage reimbursement for travel between client visits.
  • As the Care Route program grows, a company vehicle may be provided for this position in the future.

For example, if your first client is scheduled for 8:00 AM, your paid workday begins when you arrive for that visit. From that point forward, your scheduled client visits and your travel time between clients are paid. At the end of your final client visit, your normal commute home begins.

Location

This is an on-site, community-based position serving clients in the Fort Mill, Rock Hill, and Indian Land, South Carolina areas. Caregivers travel between client homes as part of their assigned Care Route.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

At Assisting Hands Home Care, we believe great caregivers should have the opportunity to do meaningful work while being part of a team that values and supports them.

Our Daily Care Program offers a different kind of caregiving experience. Instead of spending a long shift in one home, you'll stay active throughout the day, build relationships with several regular clients, and help seniors remain safely and independently in their own homes.

You'll be an important part of a new approach to home care designed around a simple idea: seniors shouldn't have to pay for hours of care when what they really need is the right help at the right times throughout the day.

If you're dependable, compassionate, organized, and looking for a full-time caregiving position where you can make a difference for several seniors every day, we'd love to meet you.
