Role Overview:

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Precon Marine Inc, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment used in marine construction and related services. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our marine operations team to ensure that all heavy equipment is in optimal working condition to support our projects. This position is on-site only in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Performing routine maintenance on heavy equipment, including diagnostic tests, oil changes, and filter replacements.
  2. Repairing and troubleshooting heavy equipment to identify faults and implement solutions to ensure proper functionality.
  3. Maintaining accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  4. Collaborating with the marine operations team to facilitate timely repairs and maintenance for project support.
  5. Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment to support the company's mission of delivering high-quality marine construction and related services.

Qualifications:

You're a great fit if you have the following skills.

  1. Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or relevant field.
  2. Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  3. Strong knowledge of safety standards and environmental regulations related to heavy equipment operations.
  4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Bonus If You:

  1. Hold a certification or specialized training in heavy equipment maintenance or related areas.
  2. Tier 4 exhaust emission training in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the exhaust systems of diesel engines that meet the EPA's Tier 4 emissions standards.

Employment Type & Availability:

This position is Full Time, Monday through Friday.
