About us: Homewatch CareGivers of Prosper and Sherman is seeking a compassionate and dedicated In-Home Caregiver to join our team. The in-depth relationships made between caregivers and clients at home bring meaning and purpose to the work of a Companion Caregiver. Flexible shifts allow you to work around school or other personal responsibilities. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to clients in their homes, promoting their independence and enhancing their quality of life. Use our new Care App for your smartphone to keep track of your work schedule, and shift responsibilities, communicate with the office and family, and much more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Prepare and serve meals, ensuring dietary needs are met.
  • Administer medications as instructed and assist with basic health monitoring.
  • Help with light housekeeping tasks, including laundry and cleaning, to maintain a safe and tidy environment.
  • Escort clients to appointments, social activities, and errands as needed.
  • Observe and report any changes in the client's physical or emotional condition to the care team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Participate in training and professional development sessions as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is a plus but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with clients and families.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor, with a desire to help others.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in using mobile devices and basic technology for communication.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel in the Prosper and Sherman area.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the day, including traveling to different client homes.
  • Capability to lift, transfer, and support clients, including helping them get in and out of bed, wheelchairs, or other assistive devices, which may require lifting up to 5-10lbs.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, and reaching to provide care, perform assessments, and handle medical equipment or supplies.
  • Proficiency in using hands for tasks such as administering medications, using medical equipment, and performing procedures that require dexterity.
  • Ability to see and hear accurately to monitor client conditions, read medical charts, and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE (e.g., masks, gloves, gowns) for extended periods as needed for infection control.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including client homes, which may involve different levels of accessibility, lighting, and temperature.
